Bideford Summer Fair: Celebrating Tradition, Innovation, Community
Get ready to celebrate because the Bideford Summer Fair is back, and it's better than ever—and the best part? It's free for everyone! Scheduled for the 8th of June in Victoria Park, this year's fair promises a delightful blend of tradition, innovation, and community spirit that will leave you smiling from ear to ear.
The day starts with a touch of old-fashioned charm: the Mayor's grand procession through the streets of Bideford town, led by the enchanting sounds of pipers and accompanied by the iconic Town Band.
But this isn't your average fun fair—it's a traditional town fair with a twist! With performances from The Sarah Ann Westcott Dance School, Carry on Choir, and Jumping Jacks Comedy Stunt Show, you can try your hand at welly throwing, bring your pooch, and enter the Dog show—it's guaranteed fun for the whole family!
This year, as we coincide with National Volunteer Week, we're thrilled to emphasise the spirit of community involvement and the invaluable contributions of volunteers. The Bideford Art, Culture & Heritage Group and countless volunteers have worked tirelessly to bring a new dimension to the fair. Get ready to embark on a journey of discovery with mesmerising aerial acrobatics and hula hooping, a camera obscura, giant chess, the Freshspring's popular steam engine and hands-on workshops featuring rope making, morse code, painting and ridiculous paper boat puppetry
Bideford Town Council funds this event annually, with South West Event Management Solutions coordinating it. The additional offering organised by The Bideford Art, Culturel & Heritage Group is funded by the Regeneration Board, Bideford Bridge Trust and TDC's Shared Prosperity Fund.
