In recognition of the barriers experienced in accessing Primary Health Care by people in Torridge who are homeless or vulnerably housed, and living complex lives, we have been looking at how best to gather the lived experience of those affected most, to evidence the need for alternative provision.
We have been fortunate to recruit a fanstastic team to provide a four week drop in, inviting those with experience of homelessness, addiction, and other complex challenges, to share their experiences with peer mentors and support workers, so that they can be documented and used to inform future provision. Harbour Bideford have generously allowed us to use their building, and The Bideford Lighthouse Project CIC provide a team of volunteers including a Chef!
Team members from TTVS Encompass Southwest Together Devon and Torridge District Council Housing Team will also be on hand, as well as support from DCC Public Health to assist in evaluating the feedback provided.
Please do share this post with your networks so that we are able to reach as many people as possible, and make them aware of the drop in.
Thank you for your support towards enhancing equity of access to health care in Torridge
