This widely known and respected Art Society has historic links to the Burton Art Gallery & Museum in Bideford, North Devon. Members of the Society include painters, printmakers, sculptors, wood-carvers, potters and textile artists.
The Bideford Railway Heritage Centre has restored the railway. The railway opened in 1855, being extended from Barnstaple and ran onwards to Torrington in 1871. For many years direct trains ran to and from London Waterloo, including the famous “Atlantic Coast Express.” Sadly the line fell victim of
Bideford’s largest Taxi & Private Hire firm, averaging over 100,000 customer journeys a year, offering prebooked taxis 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year.
