Love Bideford at Christmas Project

Unifying Bideford's Festive Spirit - Shop, Stroll and Celebrate

The board has introduced the Love Bideford Project at Christmas, recognising the historical lack of a coordinated town approach to promote Bideford's Christmas events. This initiative aims to address the fragmentation and enhance the visibility of these events, leveraging both traditional and digital platforms.

Coordination of Christmas Events

Embracing the festive spirit, the Love Bideford Project is a cohesive force that brings together and promotes diverse Christmas events across the town. The project seeks to foster a unified and more successful Christmas offering from the entire community by amplifying a proposed Christmas-focused 'whole town' promotional campaign.

  • Bideford Christmas Light Switch-On Celebrations: Over 38 Town Traders opened this year to support this event.
  • Bideford Christmas Market & Late Night Shopping:

Inclusive Promotion Strategies

To ensure the success of this endeavour, the Love Bideford Project employs a multi-faceted promotional approach, including:

  1. Posters and Flyers: Traditional promotional materials will be strategically placed throughout the town to catch the attention of residents and visitors alike.
  2. Digital Advertising: Leveraging the power of digital platforms, the project will utilise online channels to reach a broader audience, ensuring that the digital voices of the community are heard.
  3. Social Support: Assets were created for Town Traders to link in and support the town events.

Christmas Entertainment Highlights

In addition to promoting individual events, the promotion will actively highlight town-wide entertainment organised to support these town events, including: specifically

  • Silent Disco: A unique and engaging Christmas experience that adds a modern twist to traditional festivities. Attendees can enjoy the holiday spirit through synchronised silent disco music, fostering a sense of togetherness.
  • Town band and other entertainers were commissioned to support the Christmas market and late-night shopping event.
