New Digital Screen Enhances Tourist Information Services

Bideford Regeneration Project at The Burton

To make information more accessible and convenient for visitors, a new digital tourist information screen has been installed at The Burton at Bideford. Supported by the Bideford Regeneration Board, this innovative addition provides real-time updates to help tourists make the most of their visit.

Located at The Burton, Bideford’s Tourist Information Centre, the screen informs visitors about the latest events, activities, and attractions in Bideford and the surrounding areas. By connecting with the Discover Bideford website, it offers easy access to all the town’s highlights in one convenient place.

The Burton also serves as the town’s main hub for visitor information, offering a wide range of leaflets, maps, and guides about local attractions, accommodations, and other tourism resources. This digital upgrade further enhances its role as a key resource for tourists exploring the area.

The project received £1,500 in funding from the UK Government’s Shared Prosperity Fund, with an additional £1,000 contributed by the Bideford Regeneration Board to cover materials, software, and installation costs.

Looking ahead, The Burton plans to launch a volunteer programme in early 2025, aimed at further expanding its tourist information services. Interested individuals are encouraged to email [email protected] for more details.
