Scheme Highlights:

  1. Past Success: In 2023, the scheme distributed £18k across 24 applications, resulting in transformative changes for Torridge businesses and the creation of five new jobs.
  2. Expanded Focus: Phase 2 broadens its scope to include gateways into town centers, aiming for a comprehensive uplift of the community.
  3. Funding Details: The UK Shared Prosperity Fund backs this scheme, offering grants of up to £1000 with a 50:50 funding arrangement. Eligible projects encompass window and door replacements, new signage, and more.

How to Apply:

  • Location Criteria: Businesses must be situated in Torridge towns, including Bideford, Northam, Westward Ho!, Appledore, Great Torrington, or Holsworthy.
  • Independence Matters: Only independent businesses with ground floor, street-facing frontage qualify for the scheme.
  • Direct Application: Apply directly without the involvement of agents or consultants. Previous grant recipients need not reapply.

Timescale:

  • Launch Date: The scheme kicks off on January 10, 2024.
  • Application Deadline: Submit your application by noon on February 7, 2024.
  • Notification of Success: Successful applicants will be notified by February 14, 2024.
